HIPAA is a federal health privacy regulation that provides National Standards to protect the Privacy of Personal Health Information.  The DHHS website covers an extensive range of information.  If you have a question about the Privacy Rule, look at the sections about "Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)" and "Privacy Guidance". If you don't find the information you were seeking, you may submit an e-mail to OCRPrivacy@hhs.gov.
